We've arrived in Florence and are settling into our hotel. Unfortunately we can only get internet in the lobby here, so it may be hard to post as many pictures, but I think Kari intends to put some up a little later.
Siena was a great city and we both really enjoyed it there (aside from the driving). I kind of wish we had a little more time there as it was a really fun city to explore on foot, but we at least got to see the main attractions, if only from the outside. Driving into Florence was not quite as stressful as in Siena, but was still a bit of a nightmare, thanks again to our errant GPS guidance. Our car is stowed away in a garage now, where it will remain until we leave. I know Kari is pretty happy about that! Honestly, though, in spite of the driving being very stressful she has done a great job and doesn't give herself appropriate credit.
We will try to post some pictures from Siena and from the drive at some point later tonight or tomorrow, and will hopefully have plenty of photos from Florence as well.
Hoping all is well on your side of the pond

Congratulations, Kari!
ReplyDeleteYou are now ready to move on to the Next Level: driving on the left-hand side of the road in England!
(The next two stages are beating the pedestrians to each cross-walk in New York City and then, the ultimate challenge, finding your way out of Boston!)
Enjoy the most beautiful city in the world!
